EXTENDED HEALTH CARE COVERAGE FOR DEPENDENT CHILDREN:

President Obama made sweeping changes to the health care for dependent children 18 to the age of 26.  The effective date of the Federal Health Care reform mandate goes into effect on September 23, 2010.

Since the city of Buffalo's group renewal date is July 1, 2011,

This coverage is only for medical, not dental. the city of Buffalo and Blue Cross Blue shield is is providing "Bridge" coverage to help adult dependents under the age of 26 to keep their exisisting coverage between June 01, 2010 and the plan renewal date.

Any dependent that age's off their parents plan on or after June 01, 2010, the following will apply:

The extension applies to CURRENTLY ENROLLED young adults only who remain on their parents policy and are eliglible for coverage

on or after June 01, 2010.
